 The Division of Pediatric Intensive Care
Services at Midwest NeoPed Associates, Ltd. provides physician services
at two Pediatric Intensive Care Units in the Greater Chicago area:
Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and St. James Hospital in
Chicago Heights. These centers are specialists in providing advanced
medical care to critically ill infants and children. The Division
provides a wide range of physician support service for pediatric
patients, aged 0 to 18 years, including pediatric conscious sedation.
Our board certified, pediatric
intensivists are responsible for directing the daily care as well as
overseeing admissions to the P.I.C.V. After hours coverage is provided by
on-site, board certified, pediatric hospitalists with the intensivist
available by beeper. All Units have the support of the full complement of
pediatric subspecialists and have dedicated pediatric transport teams,
serving as referral facilities for nearby hospitals. Academic appointment
